Kuala Lumpur also topped the Most Visited Destinations list followed by Phuket and Bangkok, and then, Singapore.

AirAsia X Chief Commercial Head Arik De said that the report revealed some interesting hot spots including up and coming destinations like Taipei, Kota Kinabalu, Tokyo and Cebu.

"The report not only reveals our most popular network destinations but also some insight into traveller types and their preferred destinations, including adventure seekers choosing Taiwan as a place they like to visit," Mr De said. "It was no surprise Phuket being named the most popular beach destination, followed by Langkawi and Bali. However, it's not just destinations that were of interest. We are able to reveal that the top three inflight food choices were Bukhara Chicken Briyani, Uncle Chin's Chicken Rice and Pak Nasser's Nasi Lemak."
